About the Artist
Color is what drives me as an artist. It is what catches my attention in a piece of art. The interplay of one color against another is what draws me to a piece of work and holds my interest. This is reflected in my work, where the balance of color throughout a painting is what determines the placement of paint.
On this site I am primarily showing and selling works that I've done on plexiglass. Acrylic on plexiglass is a medium I discovered a couple of years ago. Plexiglass intrigues me as a medium because it allows both sides of a painting to be viewed.
When I work on plexiglass, I am able to use both sides and create images that look fantasticaly different from one side to the other. The challenge of making both sides look good is the main reason I enjoy this medium.
An added feature of working with plexiglass is that because it is transparent, light passes through the paint and also changes the effect. With some of my first works I discovered how the work with two views actually had a third when light passed through. The transparency also allows depth to come into play.
I currently live and paint in western Massachusetts.
